Float Pool and Backup Caregiver

Job Overview

Caregivers First Choice LLC is hiring ongoing, long term Float Pool and Backup Caregivers to support clients across the Denver Metro area. This is a PRN position with no guaranteed hours, offering a competitive rate of $24.00 per hour plus travel reimbursement. You will provide critical, adaptable care to clients under Colorado Medicaid HCBS programs, spanning Personal Care, Homemaker services, and complex Health Maintenance Activities.

Core Clinical Responsibilities

  1. Health Maintenance Activities (HMA)
    • Administer medications accurately and document administration records according to specific physician orders and agency protocols.
    • Assist with bowel and bladder care programs, including catheter care and delegated digital stimulation or suppository administration as required.
    • Support clients utilizing specialized medical devices, including gastrostomy tubes, tracheostomies, and mechanical ventilators, following proper training and clinical validation.
  2. Personal Care and Mobility Assistance
    • Perform safe client transfers and positioning using mechanical lifts, slide boards, and gait belts in accordance with safe patient handling guidelines.
    • Assist with critical activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene, preserving client dignity and promoting independence.
  3. Homemaking and Environmental Support
    • Maintain safe, sanitary, and organized living environments through light housekeeping, laundry, and trash removal.
    • Plan and prepare meals tailored to client dietary restrictions and specialized nutrition guidelines.

Required Qualifications and Key Skills

  • Active Colorado Certified Nursing Assistant, CNA, or Registered Nurse, RN, license preferred, but highly experienced complex-care caregivers are encouraged to apply.
  • Proven technical competency with common home medical equipment and transfer devices.
  • Physical capacity to lift up to fifty pounds and execute physical care tasks safely.
  • Willingness to travel to client homes across Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, and Jefferson counties.
  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver license, and active auto insurance are required to qualify for travel reimbursement.
  • Exceptional professional reliability, active communication skills, and rapid adaptability to new client environments and clinical routines.

Available Shifts

Care requires consistent multi-shift coverage. Please share your availability for our morning and afternoon/evening shifts, seven days a week. Specific hours are confirmed during the interview.
